The European standard DIN EN 13126 consists of 19 parts. It deals with fittings for windows and French windows. Part 3 of this series of standards has been completely revised.
This standard specifies requirements and test procedures for the long-term functionality, strength, protective effect and mode of operation of operating handles.
The tests carried out by the testing institutes result in a 9-digit classification code, which is structured as follows:

Class 1 or Class 2 according to Table 5 of the standard. Table 5 contains the main test parameters for the usage category.
Requirements:
- Actuation torques and detent torques
- Testing of continuous functionality Fixed pin connection
- Free play (after testing for long-term functionality)
- Torsional strength
