INFObox for fre resistant door sets DIN 18273

Fire door sets - according to DIN 18273 - must have the compliance certifcate (ÜZ).

This compliance certifcate is issued from an authorized certifcation institute on the
following conditions:

① Fire-resistant door sets according to DIN 18273. This standard is valid for all
fre-resistant door sets used on fre and smoke doors and also applies to
locks, profle cylinders, hinges etc. If there is any non fre-tested component
used on fre-resistant doors, the above mentioned requirements of DIN 18273 are
not fulflled.
② The existence of a recognised production control and quality system at the manufacturing
facility.
③ The product is subject to regular inspection by the Testing Institute.


Characteristics of fre-resistant door sets DIN 18273

① The 9 mm square spindle must be steel.
② In case of fre the reliable functioning of the fre-resistant-door sets is ensured.
③ Fire prevention and installation accessories must operate reliably
over more than 200.000 opening and closing cycles.
④ Fire-resistant door sets and installation accessories must be produced from a
material which does not melt below 1000 degrees (300 degrees for smoke doors).
For example, aluminium or plastic sets must have a steel core inside. Plates and roses must
have a substructure of steel.
⑤ Fire-doors and hardware are categorised according to the length of time they can resist fre:
T30 = 30 Min; T60 = 60 Min; T90 = 90 Min; T120 = 120 Minutes. All Dieckmann fre-resistant
sets are tested to T90 standard.

Area of application

Doors and escape routes in buildings (for example ofces and production facilities etc.) without
public access. The occupants of the building are familiar with the exits and their hardware in case
of emergency situations.

The testing and certifcation of the furniture must take place together with the locks. This is absolu-
tely order to adhere to national regulations.
Such essential in function is designed for emergency use only and is not suitable for permanent
operation.
